Homes of an ex-commissioner and an APC candidate in Rivers were bombed

Gunmen assaulted the homes of two prominent politicians in Rivers State on Thursday night and early Friday morning with explosives thought to be dynamite.

The homes that were attacked belonged to Dr. Tamunosis Gogo-Jaja, a former commissioner for water resources and rural development, and Hon. Charles Anyanwu, the APC candidate for the Etche State Constituency.

Less than 48 hours before the deadly attack, twin explosions rocked the homes of the Atlantic Television Network, Wish FM 99.5, and Hon. Tony Bombs, a candidate for the House of Representatives for the Social Democratic Party.

Although there are little specifics regarding the attack on Dr. Gogo-home, Jaja's a viral video depicted the former commissioner questioning a suspect who was writhing in agony and bleeding.

The accused suspect and his accomplices broke into the Gogo-home Jaja's in a black Hilux van without a license plate, but their luck ran out when watchful security personnel were on the scene.

In the viral video, the former commissioner was heard questioning the suspect and reprimanding him, telling him that he had been instructed by two in the morning to go to his house and kill him and his family.

He said, “You came to my house by 2 am. They sent you to come and destroy me and my family?

Speaking to reporters, the APC candidate, Hon. Ayanwu, claimed that on Thursday night, dynamite-wielding gunmen attacked his home in Ulako, Etche LGA.
