Yobe South's senatorial election declared inconclusive by INEC

The cancellation of votes at unit 003, Manawachi Primary School in the state's Fika Local Government Area has led the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare the senatorial elections held in Yobe South district as being inconclusive.

The decision was necessary because more votes were cast overall than were recognized in the polling place, according to Professor Saidu Abdulkadir Shettima, the INEC Returning Officer for the zone.

He claims that only the affected parties, the APC and PDP, will take part in the rerun, which INEC will set for a new date.
