The New Nigerian People's Party's Ogun state gubernatorial candidate Orphemi Ajadi has promised legal action against the Independent National Electoral Commission for omitting the party's name from ballots.
Speaking at Ofada in the state's Obafemi-Owode Municipal District shortly after the vote, Ajadi expressed concern that the ballot paper only showed the party's logo and markedly lacked his name.
Ajadi said: "Nowhere is safe. In my voting unit, the APC gathered thugs and attacked me. I am very disappointed. "They had guns with my guards. This is not a choice.
“I don't see my party, NNPP, on the ballot paper. I notified INEC to make the change after the first election.
"Today I found no party name on the ballot, just the logo. It is very disappointing.
"By the grace of God, we will go to court and challenge INEC as to why our party's name was removed from the ballot.
When asked if he trusts INEC, he replied: You have let Nigerians down. It's a complete disappointment. "
