Gombe NSCDC deploys 850 Officials for Saturday's Elections

About 850 police officers were deployed by the Nigerian Security and Civil Protection Corps in Gombe state ahead of gubernatorial and state legislative elections scheduled for Saturday, March 19.



In a statement by NSCDC spokesperson DSC Sa'ad Buhari, state commander Achier Abraham was cited as a breakdown while addressing regional commanders and division officers at headquarters in Gombe. rice field.

Abraham has asked the agency to maintain the utmost professionalism during and after conducting the investigation.

He noted that the officers deployed are expected to help ensure the smooth conduct of the investigation, adding that sanctions await those who violate.

"His 850 officers in the Command must maintain an ethic of professionalism and be apolitical in conducting the electoral process."

"I have ordered the authorities to work in partnership with all security agencies to ensure smooth and fair elections in the state, while ensuring that the lives and property of Gombe residents are adequately protected." said the spokesman. He stressed:
“We must work with other security agencies to adequately protect human life and property, especially critical national assets and infrastructure, during and after the exercise,” Abraham added.

Eight of his 12 parties competing in the gubernatorial election were reported to have backed Muhammadu his governor Yahya as the nominee on Monday.

His other five recruited his AA candidate Brigadier General Nuhu Miller on Thursday. Meanwhile, Labor Party's Keftin Amga, New Nigerian People's Party's Khamis Mairantarki and People's Democratic Party's Muhammad Barde are running the race alone without any form of alliance.
