The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has postponed Saturday's gubernatorial and provincial council elections until Sunday in the Butura district of the Bokos Municipal Governorate (LGA) on the plateau due to logistical problems.
Dr. Oliver Agundu, his INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for the state, said Saturday when he spoke with journalists in Jos.
Agundu said election materials, such as ballots intended for the community, were mistakenly taken to another of his LGAs.
He said elections in the region will be held on Sunday, March 19, so as not to deprive community members of the right to vote.
He regretted the inconvenience caused by the delay and eventual postponement of the election and urged community members to attend to exercise their voting rights.
