The Joint Admissions Board (JAMB) has postponed the 2023 Mock Uniform Higher Education Entrance Examination to March 30, 2023 due to Saturday's gubernatorial and legislative elections.
The board announced this in a statement by her JAMB head of public affairs and protocols, Fabian Benjamin, in Abuja on Monday.
Mock UTME 2023 was scheduled for Thursday 16 March 2023.
The statement reads:
"The date change is partly due to a change in the dates of the gubernatorial and state legislative elections, which were previously scheduled for Saturday, March 11, 2023, but now he is scheduled for March 18, 2023. Postponed.
“Candidates who register early and indicate their willingness to participate in the mock UTME will be informed when they will print the mock UTME notification slip containing the center and other details. “Mock UTMEs are designed to allow candidates to gain practical experience in the system and to enable the Board to assess the readiness of its partners and the readiness of the Board to decide on a major UTME. It is an optional exam introduced by the Association of Places from April 29 to May 12, 2023.
“For example, under the new regime, if there is a delay of up to an hour before the start of a particular session, that session will be canceled and postponed with the candidate.
“Similarly, no more tests may be started one hour after the scheduled start time. Sessions will be scheduled for FREE or AVAILABLE slots. In some cases, it is a requirement that we need to notify you of new conferences or centers. Furthermore, candidates cannot spend more than one hour before submitting their answers during UTME. Similarly, the new rule will prevent candidates from logging in for one hour after the exam starts.
“If for any reason an exam session is canceled or cannot be conducted, there is no need to panic as the candidate will simply be scheduled for the next available session on the same day. You are expected to leave the hall at 12:00 and proceed to the holding area and wait for further instructions.
"Furthermore, you will not be allowed to leave the test center until you are notified of the date and time of your supplementary lessons. “Candidates should be aware that rescheduled exams are only for those who were unable to conduct their exam session for any reason and not those who were marked late or absent from the session.”
