The victim was held captive for 68 days before being finally rescued by police.

"As a result of the operation, 14 hostages were rescued, consisting of two men, seven women and five children under the age of two.
“Victims reported that on 1 January 2023, at around 11:00 pm, a number of suspected bandits armed with sophisticated weapons attacked the villages of Anguwar Mangoro and Gidan Maidawa in Gusau District and forced victims into their camps. They informed police investigators that they had abducted them in captivity for 68 days. "The victims, who were in a sympathetic state, were taken to the Gusau Police Hospital for treatment and then reunited with their families and relatives," Chef said.
He said State Police Commissioner Kolo Yusuf congratulated the victims on their regained freedom and assured them of the command's continued commitment to protecting the lives and property of its citizens.
