Tuesday saw the start of a court battle between the All Progressives Congress and its presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to thwart attempts by opposition parties to delay the collation of the results of the presidential election held on Saturday.
In order to stop the Labour Party and the People's Democratic Party from continuously announcing and compiling the poll's results, the candidate and his party launched a lawsuit.
The lawsuit was submitted to the Federal High Court in Kano with the file number FHC/KN/CS/43/2023.
While Kashim Shettima, the vice presidential candidate for the APC, was also filed as a plaintiff, the Action Alliance and the Independent National Electoral Commission were joined as defendants.
The plaintiffs requested the court to issue an injunction prohibiting the defendants from halting the compilation and release of the results, according to Daily Trust, in a motion on notice submitted along with the original summons.

"Damages will not fully compensate for the hurt that may be imposed on the Plaintiffs if the Defendants cease the collation of the outcome," they said.
