Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labor Party candidate for governor of Lagos, said a party member had been shot dead in the ongoing gubernatorial election.
His LP candidate, who said the election process was riddled with intimidation and voter suppression, claimed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and police were involved in the killings.
In a video recorded in the party's situation room, Rhodes-Vivour addressed his Lagosian, accusing electoral and security services of provoking the people.
he said: In Apapa one of our agents was shot and he died. What worries me is the collusion between the police and his INEC. "The reason we're making this video is because it's important to know that INEC and the police are provoking Lagosians in the right way.
“The INEC still has time to do the right thing and many people will help the security services calm many areas. Many areas are under heavy attack by APC thugs and hooligans. .
“I specifically appeal to INEC and the police not to set Lagos on fire. This is a state of 22 million people. Not a thing.
“Therefore, I call on INEC REC and the many people involved in this election to ensure that they do the right thing and at least create the right awareness and timeliness of a free and fair election.
