LP's Alex Otti Wins Abia Governor's Election 

 

After days of political stalemate and concerns, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday declared Labor candidate Alex Otti the winner of Abia state's March 18 gubernatorial election.

Otti won a total of 175,467 votes, defeating his closest rival, the ruling People's Democratic Party, who received 88,529 votes, his Chief of Staff Okey Ahiwe.

His Enyinnaya Nwafor of the Youth Party YPP came in third with his 28,972 votes.

His FUTO, Chairman of the Election Commission and Vice Chancellor of the Federal Institute of Technology Owerri, his Professor Nnenna Oti, after receiving the highest number of votes and fulfilling all the necessary conditions, proclaimed Otti to be the next governor.
