Police in Katsina stop terrorist attack, kill one

 


Early Wednesday, Katsina State Police Command personnel thwarted a terrorist attack at the Jabiri neighborhood in the state's Funtua Local Government Area.

In the course of the encounter, the agents captured one terrorist, killed one more, and recovered one AK-47.

This evening, the incident was confirmed by the command's spokesman, Gambo Isah. He claimed that around one in the morning that day, the terrorists had attacked the home in large numbers and were firing randomly when the police received a distress call. According to him, the local DPO directed the police team that successfully repelled the attack, which resulted in the terrorist's death.

The team successfully repelled the attack, neutralized one terrorist, arrested Jamilu Ahmed, 25, of Rugar Sarkin Baka, Goya Village, Funtua Local Government Area, and recovered one Ak-47 rifle thanks to superior firepower, according to Isah. "During an investigation, the suspect admitted to committing the crime and also confessed to a number of banditries in the villages of Tatari, Abasawa, Majewa, and Bageri, among others, which resulted in armed robberies and kidnappings.

Additionally, the suspect admitted to shooting and killing two of his victims. The investigation is still active.
