Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, yesterday said he never campaigned or spoke on behalf of any politician in the 2023 general election.
Oyedepo said in response to leaked audio released the night before by media platforms between the minister and Labor Party presidential candidate Peter Obi as he spoke to a congregation at the Faith Tabernacle, the church headquarters in Ota, Ogun State. He said so. He discussed mobilizing Christians in Kwara and the southwestern states to vote for him (Obi).
Meanwhile, the cleric said he never spoke to the group of people on behalf of the politician, although indirectly referring to the allegedly leaked phone conversation between himself and Obi.
He added that all political parties sought his prayers and advice ahead of the election and asked for their cooperation.
He claimed that no one in this world had told him what to say. Oidepo said, "I have never fought or spoken for anyone. I will not do so until I go to heaven.
"There is no political party in this country that has not asked for my prayers and advice.
"I advised them, but some didn't take it. Those who chose to take it saw results. Those who said no are still doing it."
"If you come again, I'll tell you anyway, nothing will change," he insisted.
