Blood Donation Continues for Lagos Train Crash Victims

 Blood donations for the victims of the train-bus accident on Thursday are reportedly being accepted at various sites across Lagos State.

In a tweet, Jubril Gawat, the governor of Babajide Sanwo-Olu'sseniorspecial assistant, revealed this. Following the train/bus accident, blood donation is still being accepted at the following facilities: 1. General Hospital Gbagada, according to his post. 2. The toll gate at the Lagos State Accident and Emergency Center. 3. General Lagos Island Hospital 4. The Staff Clinic of Folarin Coker Ikeja Alausa LASUTH PLS RT, 5.

Thursday morning, the unfortunate collision happened at the PWD bus stop in the state's Ikeja region.
Emergency personnel have so far identified six people as dead, and more than 82 people have been injured and taken urgently to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in Ikeja. Governor Sanwo-Olu reported that two people perished at the scene of the accident and four more perished in the hospital after visiting the facility. He claimed there were 85 passengers in total, 42 of whom had moderate injuries, 29 had severe injuries, and eight had minor ones.

Although the bus involved in the collision is the same as the state's standard BRT buses, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) spokesman, Adebayo Taofiq, said the bus was a staff bus of the Lagos State Government. Additionally, Nosa Okunbor, a spokesman for the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), reported that over 82 additional people were hurt and taken to LASUTH. The train coming into Lagos from Abeokuta trapped the State Government staff bus on its rail as it attempted to cross the PWD/Sogunle rail crossing, he continued. Later, emergency personnel arrived at the scene to conduct rescue efforts.
